Pakistan: Militants Seize Train with Hundreds of Passengers

In Pakistan, militants seized the “Jaffar Express” train carrying 450 people. They attacked the train, which was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The “Balochistan Liberation Army” (BLA) confirmed it organized the train seizure. Group representatives claimed they killed six Pakistani soldiers.

The militants blew up railway tracks in Bolan district, causing the train to stop. They then entered the train, taking control of the carriages with passengers.
The group threatened to kill hostages if authorities launched a rescue operation. Thus, they are holding hundreds of people under their control.
Reuters reports that the militants fired on the train in the Mushkaf area. Afterward, they took full control of the entire train.
A BLA spokesperson warned that the group would retaliate if the military intervened.
Pakistan: Security Forces Seek a Way Out of the Crisis
The country’s security services quickly deployed to the site of the train seizure. They are working with railway authorities to address the situation.
The government is analyzing the situation but has not yet provided comments. Negotiations or the use of force remain uncertain.
