The reviewed projects are aimed at developing transport infrastructure:

  • The first project, “Integration of Ukraine’s Railway System into the EU Transport System. Stage 1,” focuses on improving the railway network. It includes the development of the 1435 mm track to ensure technological compatibility and increase the capacity of the railway infrastructure.
  • The second project, “Organization of Transport Flows to Increase Infrastructure Capacity, Safety, and Efficiency of Border Crossing Services on the Romania-Moldova-Ukraine Route Galati/Giurgiulesti/Reni,” was developed in collaboration with Moldovan and Romanian colleagues. Its implementation will ensure continuity of movement between these border points.
  • The third project, “Ukrainian River Information Service on the Danube River – UkrRIS on the Danube River,” aims to create and implement a river information service on the Ukrainian part of the Danube River. It includes integration into the EuRIS and CEERIS portals of the RIS COMEX project, as well as enhancing navigation safety and providing harmonized information services to vessels on inland waterways.
  • The fourth project, “Integrated Modernization of the European CNS Network,” focuses on restoring Ukraine’s aeronautical industry and modernizing communication, navigation, surveillance, and aeronautical information infrastructure.

Deputy Minister of Community, Territory, and Infrastructure Development, Serhiy Derkach, noted that all projects have a Euro-integration character.

They contribute to physically bringing Ukraine closer to the European Union, expanding transport corridors, and accelerating the integration of Ukraine’s transport infrastructure into the European transport space.

The CEF program provides 50% co-financing for the projects, with an EU grant of about 53 million euros, and an equal amount to be provided by the Ukrainian side from available funding sources.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine plans to develop railway infrastructure under the CEF program.
