UAE Builds Regional Alliances Through Infrastructure Strategy

Etihad Rail CEO Shadi Malak presented the UAE’s national railway project, emphasizing successful freight operations across the country. Delegates studied this model to assess how similar systems could be developed in their regions.

Attendees included key ministers from South Sudan, Chad, and Kenya, with senior officials from Uganda and Cameroon joining virtually. They examined the UAE’s operational strategies and discussed collaborative development opportunities in railway and logistics.

UAE Commits to Shared Growth Through Transport Innovation

During the meeting, two Memorandums of Understanding were signed between Etihad Rail and South Sudan’s Ministry of Transport, as well as Chad’s Ministry of Trade and Industry. These MoUs focus on technical support, feasibility studies, and knowledge transfer.

Sheikh Shakhboot highlighted the UAE’s role in fostering African growth by supporting logistics and transport infrastructure that align with national and regional goals. He called such partnerships essential for sustainable development.

Minister Al Mazrouei stressed that railway systems play a vital role in modern economies. He reaffirmed the UAE’s goal to support joint efforts that improve global connectivity and operational excellence in logistics.

Etihad Rail’s ongoing work has transformed the UAE’s internal transport system. Its expansion now serves as a model for countries seeking reliable, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure development through strategic alliances.
