The project costs €30 million and has received funding from the French Environmental Agency. This program supports the decarbonization and digitalization of rail transport.

Initial testing was scheduled for 2024 but has been postponed. The Draisy rail bus is designed to carry 80 passengers, with 30 seated. It can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h, with a range of up to 100 km on a single battery charge.

Advantages of the Draisy Rail Bus

The rail bus offers numerous environmental benefits. In France, where one-third of rail lines remain non-electrified, using rail buses like Draisy can significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The new design, featuring panoramic windows, also enhances passenger comfort and attractiveness.

The project is backed by companies such as GCK Battery and Stations-e, ensuring the creation of a reliable and efficient rail bus. Utilizing these vehicles in remote regions reduces operational costs by avoiding the need for costly electrification. This makes the Draisy an especially appealing solution for regions with limited budgets.

Overall, the Draisy represents an innovative solution that will contribute to the development of sustainable and eco-friendly transportation in rural and remote areas.
