News on Rolling Stock Procurement and Supply

Railway journal Railway Supply, citing Rollingstock, provides the following news on rolling stock procurement and supply:
State freight carrier Trenes Argentinos Cargas has announced a tender for the supply of 180 grain hopper wagons. The tender also includes an option for an additional 63 wagons. The procurement plans involve using hoppers with a payload capacity of 65 tons, which will be identical in design to the grain wagons from CRRC.
The Romanian cities of Iași and Galați have announced tenders for the supply of 28 trams as part of the national recovery and resilience plan. Iași is seeking a supplier for 18 low-floor trams, each 22 meters long, at a cost of 177 million Romanian lei (€37.5 million). Galați, on the other hand, is procuring 10 trams, each 18 meters long, for a value of 95.4 million lei (€19.8 million).
China plans to expand high-speed network to 50 000 km
Brazilian group Inpasa has invested approximately $20 million in the acquisition of 50 ethanol tank wagons and 2 locomotives (pictured). The rolling stock will be leased to the carrier Rumo for 10 years. The four-axle tank wagons made of low-alloy steel were manufactured at a joint venture between Greenbrier, Amsted Rail, and Iochpe-Maxion in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
CRRC has signed a contract for the supply of 6 narrow-gauge locomotives to Congo. The agreement also includes a 10-year maintenance service. Meanwhile, neighboring Gabon has received 6 GT46AC locomotives from Progress Rail.
