Norway Tests Alstom’s Coradia Stream Electric Train

The Coradia Stream for the Nordics trains are built for harsh climates and can reach speeds of up to 200 km/h. Each unit accommodates 778 passengers, including 294 seated.

To improve passenger comfort, the trains offer designated spaces for bicycles, as well as baby strollers and wheelchairs. The interior includes heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Doors are supplied by the U.S.-based company Wabtec, and the low-floor design ensures easy boarding—especially important for passengers with reduced mobility and families.

Alstom’s Contract with Norway Exceeds €1.8 Billion

Norway signed a framework agreement with Alstom worth up to €1.8 billion, covering the potential delivery of up to 200 trains. To date, Norske Tog has ordered 55 six-car units for more than €610 million.

This investment will help increase the reliability and environmental performance of the country’s passenger rail services. It marks a key step toward modernizing Norway’s railway system.
