Authorities will construct new railway lines, renew tracks, upgrade traffic facilities, and enhance road safety. Additionally, they plan bridge improvements and customer-centric amenities for a seamless passenger experience.

Since 2014, engineers have completed 1,824 km of new railway tracks, surpassing Sri Lanka’s total railway length. Moreover, 478 flyovers and underpasses have been built to improve transportation efficiency.

The Kavach safety system now covers 1,189 route km, enhancing security across crucial railway routes. Authorities focus on better safety solutions to prevent accidents and streamline railway operations.

Northeast Rail Infra Electrification and Station Upgrades

The Amrit Bharat Stations Scheme will upgrade 92 railway stations, introducing modern facilities for passengers. Officials confirm that full electrification of Northeast railway tracks will be completed by December 2025.

The Bhairabi-Sairang railway project in Mizoram remains on schedule, with its completion expected by July 2025. Engineers and construction teams work diligently to meet the set deadlines.

Future Railway Expansion Plans in Northeast

Further expansion plans include 200 Vande Bharat trains, 100 Amrit Bharattrains, and 50 Namo Bharat rapid rail services. These additions aim to modernize passenger transit while improving speed and efficiency.

Additionally, authorities have approved 1,000 new flyovers and underpasses nationwide to strengthen railway safety measures. These upgrades will contribute to smoother operations and enhanced travel experiences across India.
