Cargounit has signed a contract with Newag for the supply of 10 Dragon 2 electric locomotives, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.

The Polish leasing company Cargounit has entered into a contract with Newag to deliver 10 Dragon 2 electric locomotives at a total cost of €41 million.

The contract also includes an option to purchase an additional 20 locomotives.

According to the plans, the rolling stock is expected to be released by the end of 2025.

The Dragon 2 electric locomotives have a power of 5 MW, can accelerate up to 120 km/h, and are capable of transporting trains with a weight of up to 4,500 tons.
