Oceanogate, a part of Contship Italia Group, will provide locomotive services for the Italian segment. Initially, the route will feature three weekly trips, increasing to four by April 2025.

Importance of the New Multimodal Transport Route

The new multimodal transport route is critical due to the strategic position of Moerdijk port. It offers advanced infrastructure, including 40 km of roads and 35 km of railways for logistics.

Additionally, Moerdijk enables seamless transport access to the United Kingdom. A2B-online, a specialized logistics provider, will manage multimodal operations to and from British destinations.

Future Expansion of Multimodal Transport Routes

Hannibal’s experience in developing routes includes ongoing success between Italy and the Netherlands. In June 2024, weekly trips on the Melzo–Rotterdam route increased from five to six.

Furthermore, Contship Italia Group plans to expand its network into Eastern Europe by late 2024. A new route will connect Milan, Budapest, and Curtici, broadening its international reach.

Hannibal continues developing multimodal transport solutions to maintain its strong position in the European logistics market. These efforts provide businesses with reliable and efficient international transport options.
