Myanma Railways Enhances Railway Infrastructure After Earthquake

Myanma Railways has taken swift action to repair tracks and bridges damaged during the earthquake on March 28, ensuring minimal disruption to services. Passenger and cargo trains along the Yangon-Mandalay route resumed operations on April 5. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Reinforcement Efforts by Myanma Railways
To strengthen the railway network, Myanma Railways is conducting further reinforcement work between major stations along the Yangon-Mandalay line.

This includes the areas between Ywapale and Hanza, Nyaunglunt and Magyibin, and Phyu and Nyaungbintha. The work involves gravel filling, packing, and adjusting concrete sleepers.
Resumption of Regular Services by Myanma Railways
To meet transportation needs, Myanma Railways has resumed regular services on the Pyinmana-Taungdwingyi-Pyinmana route as of April 10. Train No. 103 departs Pyinmana at 2 pm, arriving in Taungdwingyi by 8 pm. Meanwhile, Train No. 104 departs Taungdwingyi at 5 am and reaches Pyinmana by 11 am the next day.
Each train consists of five ordinary class coaches and one brake van. Ticket prices and stopping stations remain unchanged.
Myanma Railways’ ongoing infrastructure enhancements ensure safe and efficient travel, addressing the needs of both passengers and cargo transport across the region.
