Multimodal transportation between Turkey, France, and the United Kingdom was discussed at the Logitrans 2023 exhibition in Istanbul, where VIIA, DFDS, and the ports of Sete and Calais signed an agreement for its development, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This collaboration involves both maritime and railway transport, utilizing ports in Turkey and France.

The plan aims to establish efficient logistics for transporting goods in semi-trailers from Turkey through France to the United Kingdom.

The agreement outlines the transportation of semi-trailers by ferries from Turkey to the port of Sete, then by rail to the port of Calais, and finally, by DFDS maritime transport to the British port of Tilbury.

VIIA and DFDS have already collaborated on transporting goods to France, including railway shipments of Turkish cargo from the port of Sete to the Valenton terminal in November 2022.
