MTP Yuzhny will build a new terminal and transshipment complex for handling export and import cargo

SE “Commercial Sea Port Yuzhny” plans to implement two large investment projects aimed at increasing the transshipment capacity of the enterprise.
According to Railway Supply magazine, the matter concerns a terminal for export cargo and a transshipment complex for imported cargo.
The implementation of these two projects will increase the capacity to 25 million tons per year.

The company expects that 3-4 years will pass from the beginning of the design to the commissioning of the complex. The state-owned enterprise plans to implement both projects using its own funds, without attracting loans.
Investments can amount to about UAH 500 million per year. In July the port of Yuzhny handled 1,492,000 tons of cargo. In particular, 1,297,000 tons of iron ore were handled.
The company said that the volume of export cargo amounted to 1,338,000 tons. This figure exceeds the July 2020 result by 21%.
