Morocco: ONCF plans to announce a tender for the supply of up to 120 trains worth €839 million

In the coming weeks, Morocco’s national carrier, ONCF, plans to announce a tender for the supply of up to 120 trains worth €839 million, according to the Railway Supply journal citing ONCF.
Deputy General Director of ONCF, Mohamed Semmuni, made the announcement.
He stated that 10 companies, including Alstom, CAF, and Talgo, participated in the pre-tender request for proposals.
The winning bidder will be required to build a factory in the country. Previously, the procurement volume was estimated to be around 80-100 trains.
ONCF (Office National des Chemins de Fer) is the national railway operator in Morocco. The company is responsible for organizing and operating passenger and freight transportation throughout the country.
