Ballastless reinforced concrete track is a technology widely utilized across the Shinkansen high-speed rail network in Japan.
In March 2021, NHSRC and Japan Railway Track Consultants Co signed a memorandum of understanding for the design of the track on the 237-kilometer Vadodara-Vapi package T2 section of the future Mumbai-Ahmedabad line.
Over 14,000 tons of rails and 50 molds for casting rail plates have already been delivered from Japan, as reported by NHSRC at the end of August. Japan Railway Technical Services will train and certify Indian personnel in rail laying techniques.
