As part of the current work, approximately 30 km of track is expected to be repaired by the end of the year.

Daily activities include replacing defective sleepers and fastenings. Additionally, new reinforced concrete sleepers of the KB-65 model are being delivered.

A key part of the process is the cleaning of contaminated ballast, its cutting, as well as the collection and loading of new rail fastening grids at the PMS Basarabeasca production base.

Previously, Moldova received the first batch of rails intended for the major repairs.

The track infrastructure update is part of a large-scale project aimed at improving the condition of the country’s railway transport.
