Modernization of the TEM-7 Locomotive

MLRP has carried out the first comprehensive modernization of the TEM-7 locomotive

In 2019, MLRP LLC completed the deep modernization of TEM-7 locomotive No. 0145 for PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih.”

During the modernization of TEM-7 locomotive No. 0145, the following new equipment was installed:

1. AVS diesel engine with a power of 1470 kW.
2. Rectifying unit and microprocessor control and diagnostic system for the locomotive (MSKDT-M).
3. Rotor-vane compressor unit AKL-6RM.
4. Air conditioning system.
5. Video surveillance system.
6. Fuel consumption monitoring system.
7. Safety system allowing single-person locomotive operation.
8. Lubrication system.
9. Cooling sections and pipelines.
10. Noise- and vibration-absorbing elements.
11. Microwave oven and household refrigerator.
12. Non-combustible wires.
13. Fire extinguishing system.
14. LED projectors and lighting.

The locomotive frame and hood were modernized with the addition of ballast to accommodate new equipment and maintain the required axle load.

The traction generator, auxiliary generator, exciter, CVV, distribution gearbox, hydro-mechanical gearbox, locomotive bogies, brake lever transmission, spring suspension for coupler devices, wheelsets, and traction electric motors underwent a major overhaul.

The completion period for the modernization of TEM-7 series locomotives is 210 calendar days. The warranty for the modernized equipment is 18 months from the date of the acceptance of completed work.

MLRP LLC provides services for the maintenance of modernized locomotives during the warranty and post-warranty periods and also has the capability to supply spare parts.
