Modern trams by Skoda start operating in Frankfurt

New Skoda ForCity Plus 46T trams began operating in Frankfurt (Oder), with six modern vehicles already running on routes and two additional units held in reserve. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

In the coming weeks, Skoda Group will deliver two more trams, while the final three are in the last stages of assembly at the Plzeň factory.

Each tram is 30 meters long and accommodates up to 151 passengers, including 51 fixed and 5 folding seats. The maximum speed reaches 80 km/h.
The design includes two swivel bogies and one fixed center bogie, with a low-floor share of 70%, enhancing boarding comfort.
Trams for Brandenburg cities are part of a major contract
A contract signed in 2021 provides for the delivery of 39 trams to the cities of Frankfurt (Oder), Cottbus, and Brandenburg an der Havel.
In 2022, the agreement was extended with an option for eight additional units. The total contract value is approximately €110 million.
Funding is supported by the federal state of Brandenburg, and all trams are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2026.
