25.02.2025
Mitsubishi has completed the delivery of new trains for the automated Astram Line in Hiroshima. This transport route plays an important role in the city’s infrastructure and ensures convenient connectivity. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Development of the Automated Transport System by Mitsubishi
The Astram Line, stretching 18.4 kilometers, was launched in 1994 for the Asian Games. It connected the central areas of the city with the northwestern part, where the main sports stadium is located.

In 2017, Mitsubishi received an order for 11 new series 7000 trains, which were delivered in March 2020. Later, in September 2020, a contract was signed for an additional 13 trains, the last of which was handed over to Hiroshima Rapid Transit in February 2025.
Technical Advantages of Mitsubishi Trains
The modern series 7000 trains replaced the previous rolling stock, which had been in operation since the line’s launch. Their aluminum bodies provide durability, lightweight construction, and recyclability.
These trains are highly wear-resistant and meet modern environmental standards, making them an efficient solution for urban transportation.
