The local system of tariffs will see revenues contribute to recovering investment. However, final agreements with Trenes Argentinos Cargas are pending. The agreement would see operating rights and enable other freight operators continual access to the corridor.

Mendoza rail project outlines long-term vision

Authority representatives verified that construction commenced in 2017 and the most recent accord was signed in June with the National Transportation Secretariat. Hence, such a milestone is regarded as critical in advancing the plan to its execution stage.

Infrastructure Minister Natalio Mema characterized the aim as renovating existing tracks, keeping them in local hands, and sharing routes with Belgrano Cargas trains. Meanwhile, officials stressed the project would increase regional capacity and provide modern, efficient passenger services.
