Key Tests for Meerut Metro Trial Runs Begin

Meerut Metro trial runs focus on ensuring safety and efficiency through comprehensive testing protocols. Trains are being evaluated between Meerut South and just before Meerut Central Station. During these trials, NCRTC is analyzing track stability, traction systems, and the Train Control Management System (TCMS). Initially, trains were operated manually at lower speeds, gradually increasing them during subsequent tests.

To simulate real conditions, dynamic tests with sandbags are conducted to assess weight and stability. Safety checks on curved tracks and integration of platform screen doors (PSD) further enhance operational reliability. International standards guide every test to ensure optimal performance and passenger comfort.

Innovative Trainsets Enhance Meerut Metro Experience

The fleet of 12 three-coach trainsets, manufactured in Savli, Gujarat, includes advanced features for passenger convenience. Air-conditioned interiors, USB charging points, ergonomic seating, and grab handles highlight the focus on comfort. Ten of these modern trainsets are already stationed at the Duhai depot, ready for deployment.

The 23-kilometer Meerut Metro corridor comprises 13 stations, including three underground. This metro is India’s first to share infrastructure with semi-high-speed Namo Bharat trains. By integrating these services, commuters can expect seamless travel experiences.

Meerut Metro continues its trial runs to fine-tune operations and ensure readiness for full-scale service. NCRTC’s commitment to innovation and safety makes this metro a transformative project for the region.
