06.08.2024
The German company Max Bögl, in collaboration with China’s Xinzhu Road & Bridge Machinery, has successfully completed a maglev transport system project in Chengdu, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This project, initiated in 2018, included the delivery of rolling stock and a traffic control system for the new Transport System Bögl (TSB).

As part of the project, a 3.5 km demonstration line was built in Chengdu.
All the track structure elements required for this line’s operation were delivered from Germany in more than 650 containers.
For testing, a maglev train manufactured at Max Bögl’s production site in Sengenthal was used.
Two speed records for maglev systems were set on this demonstration line: 169 km/h in April 2021 and 181 km/h in April 2024.
The completion of the TSB project contracts laid the foundation for a new cooperation agreement between Max Bögl and Sichuan Development Maglev Technologies, a subsidiary of Sichuan Development Holding Group.
The goal of this agreement is the further development and construction of maglev lines in China.
In 2020, the German Federal Railway Authority (EBA) issued a positive statement on the main components of the new TSB transport system.
Currently, various applications for such systems are being considered in Germany.
Specifically, in Nuremberg, the TSB is being considered as a possible alternative to extending the tram line to the Nuremberg Trade Fair.
Thus, the successful completion of the project in Chengdu not only demonstrates the potential and reliability of Max Bögl’s technologies but also opens new horizons for the application of maglev transport systems in various regions of the world.
