Trains Stopped, Russian Region in Blackout

Vladivostok, Ussuriysk, Nakhodka, and other settlements in the region were left without power. The cause of the outage was an accident at the local thermal power plant’s grid.

Passengers on trains and electric trains were escorted out and guided to the nearest stations and bus stops.

Russian Railways reported that they are currently working on alternative transportation options with the regional administration.

“Traffic lights in cities are not working, trams are not running. Overall, the region is experiencing a total blackout. Due to a voltage surge, many residents have had their household appliances burned out,” the report stated.

Earlier, it was reported that a passenger train had derailed in the Volgograd region of Russia.
