Marcopolo Rail Introduces New Prosper VLT Rail Buses for Chile

Brazilian company Marcopolo Rail has introduced new Prosper VLT rail buses, which will serve the line between Talca and Constitución in Chile, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
These two-car trains, built at the factory in Caxias do Sul, are intended for the Chilean operator EFE Trenes de Chile.

The $15 million contract signed in 2022 includes the delivery of three trains, each accommodating 223 passengers, including 80 seats and space for people with disabilities.
Comfort during trips is ensured by air conditioning, USB chargers, and foldable tables.
The project focuses on modernizing the meter-gauge line, transforming it into a modern and convenient route for passengers.
Marcopolo Rail also commits to providing spare parts and technical maintenance for the trains.
The company announced its entry into the railway equipment market in 2019, presenting its first Prosper VLT prototype in 2020.
In addition to rail buses, Marcopolo Rail develops automated transport systems for airports and plans to start producing hybrid trains, Prosper VLT Hybrid, highlighting its commitment to innovation and expanding its product range.
This equipment aims to enhance the efficiency and convenience of passenger transport, offering a modern solution for Chilean railways and emphasizing Marcopolo Rail’s role as a significant player in the railway technology market.
