Expanded Train Services for Mahakumbh Preparations

Ahmedabad Railway Division has introduced 34 train services to support Mahakumbh preparations. Western Railway is adding 98 special trains, including connections from Sabarmati-Banaras and Rajkot-Banaras.

Ajay Solanki, the Public Relations Officer (PRO), highlighted enhanced safety measures to manage large crowds effectively. Railway Protection Force teams are deployed to assist travelers and ensure smooth operations.

Pilgrims can book tickets in advance, and officials encourage early reservations to avoid delays. These Mahakumbh preparations demonstrate a proactive approach to managing high travel demands.

Transport and Facilities to Support Mahakumbh Preparations

The Uttar Pradesh government has arranged 5,000 buses, including 550 electric vehicles, for devotees during the festival. Authorities built three temporary bus stands to handle traffic surges efficiently.

Vivek Chaturvedi, Additional District Magistrate, confirmed the expansion of transportation services. Enhanced Mahakumbh preparations include modern shelters for 100,000 passengers and nearly 3,000 special fair trains.

IRCTC unveiled Mahakumbh Gram, a luxury tent city, near the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj. This development offers world-class accommodation, reflecting India’s focus on comfort and cultural heritage.

The Mahakumbh festival runs from January 10 to February 24, featuring major bathing days on January 14, January 29, and February 3. Organizers expect millions to attend these sacred rituals.

Officials are working to balance modern infrastructure with cultural traditions, ensuring a memorable experience for attendees. Environmental sustainability is also prioritized through electric buses and eco-friendly initiatives.

Health services, sanitation systems, and emergency response units will operate throughout the festival. These Mahakumbh preparations aim to deliver a secure, organized, and enriching environment for visitors.
