Lotos Kolej Plans to Lease 31 Locomotives
03.10.2023
LOTOS Kolej plans to lease a maximum of 31 new or used 4- or 6-axle electric locomotives (with or without an access module) for a period ranging from 1 to 4 years, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.
The locomotives must be approved for freight train operations on the territory of Poland, and the provision of multi-system locomotives is also allowed.
This is the result of efforts to increase the share in servicing the logistics needs of the ORLEN Group, as reported by the carrier.
The discussion revolves around leasing 4- or 6-axle electric locomotives with full technical maintenance (referred to as ‘full-service’) 24/7, 365 days a year, encompassing preventive and repair maintenance.
Preferred locations for carrying out technical maintenance work include Gdansk, Plock/Torun, Tchebiny/Gliwice, or any other location within Poland as specified by the customer.
LOTOS Kolej is responsible solely for replenishing and replacing consumables such as sand, windshield washer fluid, water, and antifreeze.
