LokoTrain is celebrating its 15th anniversary and continues to expand its locomotive fleet, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

LokoTrain Celebrates 15 Years Since Its Founding

Founded in 2009, the company initially operated as a training center for train drivers.

However, by 2012, LokoTrain began offering locomotive rental services, which became a key aspect of its operations.

This year, LokoTrain’s fleet consists of 31 electric locomotives, with significant expansions planned: three more units are expected by the end of the year, and nine new Siemens Vectron locomotives are anticipated in 2025.

Thus, the company aims to meet the growing needs of clients who require modern and reliable locomotives for international transport.

According to company head Ludvik Kobza, customer needs have significantly evolved over the years.

Today, the compatibility of locomotives, allowing them to traverse entire international routes without needing to change locomotives, is paramount.

This is especially crucial for carriers seeking to ensure seamless and efficient operations of their routes.

The company began forming its own locomotive fleet in 2014.

The foundation was laid with series 242 AC locomotives.

A significant milestone in the company’s history was 2015 when LokoTrain brought three Siemens Vectron locomotives to the Czech Republic, leased from ELL Germany.

The fleet later expanded with three more locomotives, two of which were class 242 and one class 240.

Today, LokoTrain’s fleet includes:

– 19 Siemens Vectron locomotives (including 8 from EPCI),

– 4 AC locomotives (2 class 240 and 2 class 242),

– 2 Traxx DC locomotives for the Polish market,

– 6 MS locomotives (189 and 186).

The company continues to actively develop, implementing modern technologies and expanding its range of services.

In the future, LokoTrain plans to further strengthen its position in the locomotive rental market, providing clients with high-quality and modern solutions for their transportation needs.
