The British division of VTG Rail UK, a leading leasing company in Europe, VTG, has leased the first batch of innovative JNA-Z freight wagons to the freight operator Direct Rail Services (DRS), this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Lease of Innovative JNA-Z Freight Wagons

This consists of 25 wagons, bringing the total number of wagons leased by DRS from VTG Rail UK to 140 units.Previously, DRS had leased platforms for container transportation from VTG Rail UK.

The new wagons, built at the WH Davis factory in the English town of Shirebrook, will be used by DRS’s Nuclear Transport Solutions (NTS) division.

Previously, JNA wagons were dispatched to Land Recovery, specializing in the supply of construction materials.

The JNA-Z wagons are designed for the transportation of almost all types of bulk cargo, except radioactive materials.

They feature an increased payload of 77.4 tonnes with a tare weight of 24.2 tonnes.

The use of these wagons will reduce the number of freight trucks by 60 trips and decrease carbon dioxide emissions by 76%.
