These sleepers are made from a hybrid elastic polymer reinforced with two longitudinal steel rods positioned one above the other. This design not only provides excellent strength and bending stiffness but also reduces thermal expansion.

The unique technology allows for up to 30% material savings compared to traditional rectangular sleepers.

Tests conducted by specialists from the Netherlands show that KLP polymer sleepers are comparable to wooden sleepers in many parameters, including noise and vibration absorption, and can effectively replace them in certain cases.

The KLP sleepers are equipped with rail pads designed for rail fastenings, significantly simplifying and speeding up the installation of the rail-sleeper grid.

The sleepers will be displayed installed with Pandrol Fastclip and Vossloh W14/W30 fastenings.

Model 104 was developed as part of a project by the British infrastructure operator Network Rail, aimed at using more environmentally friendly sleepers than traditional wooden or concrete alternatives.

According to the manufacturer, the KLP sleepers, which require virtually no maintenance, have a service life of 50 years.
