The terminal covers an area of 240,000 square meters and is designed to handle trains up to 750 meters long.

The first phase of the terminal is expected to start operations in 2026. This phase will have an annual processing capacity of up to 195,000 TEU, equivalent to 11 train pairs per day.

Once the entire project is completed, allowing the handling of up to 22 train pairs per day and 395,000 TEU annually, the terminal will significantly increase its capacity.

The total project budget is €108 million, with €67 million provided by the Swiss Federal Office of Transport (BAV).

The project is expected to reduce 150,000 truck trips per year, easing the transportation load on roads.
