KRCBW to Repair Passenger Railcar Wheelsets by the End of 2025

KRCBW won a ₴7.04 million tender to repair passenger railcar wheelsets by December 2025. The project guarantees 15 years of reliability, ensuring safety and efficiency for railway operations. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The tender attracted only KRCBW, which is waiting for the client’s final decision on approval. According to technical specifications, specialists will inspect all parts and address defects promptly.

Defectoscopic testing will identify damages requiring repairs or replacements of major components in the wheelsets. After that, workers will install new brake discs, process wheel openings, and firmly press parts.

The assembly process involves mounting new wheels, bearings, and gearboxes, followed by rigorous testing. Technicians will verify compliance with safety and quality standards using specialized testing stands.

Guarantees and Deadlines for KRCBW Repairs

Refurbished wheelsets will receive protective coatings and paint to prevent corrosion and extend durability. The company guarantees 15 years of reliability from the acceptance date of completed repairs.

Bearings are designed for up to 8 years of service or 1.2 million kilometers of travel. All repairs must be completed by December 31, 2025, under strict compliance with contract conditions.
