On Saturday, March 22, 2025, KRCBW launched spring trials of new wagons. Three passenger wagons undergo testing on the Kremenchuk-Poltava-Kremenchuk route for Ukrzaliznytsia

The day before, March 21, Maksym Kramarenko and directors inspected the open sleeper carriage. They approved the trials, as the 66-unit order progresses on schedule.

This 2025 wagon retained the 61-779 body, but everything else received upgrades. Running gear, brakes, and life support systems enhance passenger convenience.

Together with Ukrzaliznytsia, the plant designed box mockups and considered passenger feedback. This introduced partitions, light interiors, and stainless steel materials.

Designers reduced the luggage shelf, added a table, and improved upper berth ergonomics. Passengers can work with gadgets, eat, and relax comfortably.

A cozy corner by the window, newspaper holder, and spacious trunk appeared below. Ladders, handrails, and grips ease access to upper berths for passengers.

KRCBW Enhanced Lighting and Comfort in the Wagon

Each passenger gets an adjustable light, USB outlets, and soft illumination. The saloon features an energy-saving line, as no corridor exists here.

Nine six-seat boxes and one four-seat box occupy the wagon’s interior. A linen cabinet replaces side shelves due to fan-shaped doors.

Developers upgraded the crew’s compartment, air conditioning, and ventilation for passengers. Two ducts provide fresh air and recirculation inside the saloon.

Wagons include closed toilets, changing tables, and dual-type window shades. Braille duplicates signage, and localization rose thanks to Ukrainian companies.

After running tests, VTK specialists and the plant’s center will conduct checks. Protective materials cover parts of the interior, visible in photos.

Natalia Svystun, Viktor Shepel, and Mykhailo Savchuk tested the wagon’s systems. They inspected brakes, doors, electrics, air conditioning, and ventilation per plan.

All tests ran smoothly, and the team completed the review in full scope. Protocols are in progress, and wagons will hit the railway in April.

In March, the plant will deliver SV-type wagons, followed by open sleeper carriages. Ukrzaliznytsia will receive modern wagons for passengers per the agreed timeline.
