KRCBW handed over to Ukrzaliznytsia an interregional locomotive-hauled train after planned major overhaul
29.02.2024
On February 28, 2024, PJSC “Kryukovsky Railway Car Building Works“ delivered to the customer an interregional locomotive-hauled train (ILHT) after planned major overhaul KR-1, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The photographs clearly show that this 5-car train looks brand new. However, these carriages have been in operation on the railway for 12 years already – since April 2, 2012, when the first trip on the Kharkiv-Kyiv-Kharkiv route took place!
In terms of comfort, they are no different from electric train carriages and operate in the Intercity transportation segment.
On February 27 and 28, a commission led by the head of the service and technical maintenance department and equipment for electric trains of Ukrzaliznytsia, Sergey Stepanov, worked at the plant.
Representatives of designers, quality service, production management, and passenger car body department from KRCBW were also present.
As Quality Director Vadim Malyarenko reported, during the overhaul, the exterior of the carriages was updated, crucial components and parts were repaired or replaced with new ones according to the regulations.
The train consists of two first-class carriages with seating arrangement in a 2×2 scheme, and three second-class carriages – 3×2. In one of the second-class carriages, at Ukrzaliznytsia’s request, Kryukov railcar builders installed a buffet 12 years ago.
And now, a children’s cinema has also been added. This is Ukrzaliznytsia’s achievement!
The successful overhaul and acceptance of the train by the commission attest to the high operational characteristics of the carriages, their repairability, and proper service by the corresponding department of KRCBW.
