The Korean passenger carrier has unveiled a new train at the Thaeback city station, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.

Its maximum operational speed reaches 150 km/h.

The train’s body is primarily constructed from aluminum. It is equipped with retractable steps that eliminate the gap between the platform and the train when the doors are opened.

Currently, Korail has received 9 trains, which are planned to be put into operation on the Gyeongbu, Honam, Cholla, and Thaeback lines starting from September.

In December 2018, Dawonsys won a tender for the supply of 27 trains: 7 units of 4-car trains and 7 units of 6-car trains.

Deliveries to the carrier began in the latter half of the previous year. In November 2019, the manufacturer received an order for an additional 44 units of varying compositions.

The four-car train has 264 seating places, while the six-car train accommodates 392 seating places.
