GPP Osijek expects the remaining nine trams from the initial order by September 2025. Meanwhile, the city celebrated this upgrade to its public transport system enthusiastically.

The TMK 2500 series trams, stretching 20.8 meters long and 2500 mm wide, prioritize accessibility. Because they feature three sections, they accommodate 135 passengers, including 44 seated.

Air-conditioning systems and passenger information displays enhance comfort in these modern trams significantly. So, GPP Osijek will launch the first unit by summer 2025 after testing.

Low-floor Tram Enhances Osijek’s Network

Osijek runs two tram lines covering 30 kilometers on a 1000 mm gauge network. Additionally, a $48.6 million modernization project upgraded the infrastructure from 2022 to 2024.

This low-floor tram supports Osijek’s vision for sustainable, efficient urban mobility with innovative design. Consequently, it reduces traffic congestion and promotes eco-friendly travel across the city.

Končar’s expertise ensures these trams meet high accessibility standards for all passengers consistently. Furthermore, their sleek design modernizes Osijek’s streets and improves its aesthetic appeal.

The $27 million contract reflects Croatia’s investment in cutting-edge public transport solutions nationwide. And, it strengthens Končar’s role as a leader in rolling stock manufacturing.

Osijek’s residents gain better connectivity and an improved quality of life from this project. Thus, the city prepares for increased tourism and economic growth with enhanced transit.

Future of the Low-floor Tram in Osijek

This delivery in March 2025 kicks off a broader transport evolution for Osijek residents. Accordingly, Končar continues supporting the city’s goals for greener urban mobility.

The framework agreement for 10 more trams signals ongoing commitment to fleet modernization efforts. Hence, Osijek anticipates a fully upgraded transport system by late 2026.

Each TMK 2500 tram offers reliability and spacious interiors for a smoother ride daily. Moreover, Croatia’s National Plan drives such projects to elevate urban infrastructure nationwide.

This initiative not only boosts Osijek’s transit but also highlights Croatia’s manufacturing prowess. Therefore, Končar solidifies its reputation with innovative, accessible tram designs consistently.
