Končar Unveils First TMK 2500 Tram in Osijek

Končar shipped the TMK 2500 tram to Osijek after 18 months. This low-floor vehicle arrived, marking a transit milestone for the city. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Officials plan to launch the tram in five weeks, following its testing phase. It marks the first tram delivery to Osijek in 43 years.

The TMK 2500 stretches six meters longer and 20 centimeters wider than NT2400. Consequently, it boosts passenger capacity from 115 to 135 and seats from 27 to 44.
Engineers equipped the tram with batteries for independent operation and accessibility features. These upgrades ensure it accommodates people with disabilities efficiently and enhances user experience.
Končar Boosts Osijek’s Transit Future
The company signed a deal with GPP, Osijek’s transit operator, in 2023. Under this agreement, nine more trams will reach the city by September.
The $25 million contract also includes an option for 10 additional units. The manufacturer assembles all trams at its Zagreb facility, ensuring quality.
