24.04.2024
Končar is assembling new trams for Zagreb, fulfilling an order from the capital of Croatia for 20 low-floor three-section trams of the MK2400 model, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The first three of them are already being assembled at the site.
HYDBOX ONE – a trolley for cleaning and filling the brake circuit, block, and tram battery.
It is expected that testing of the vehicles will begin in October, and they will start transporting passengers in the spring of next year.
The MK2400 model tram, 20.8 meters long, will be equipped with four double-leaf doors on one side and will be able to accommodate 115 passengers, including 27 seated.
This new rolling stock will be a further development of trams from Končar, which have already been supplied to Zagreb in the past.
Zagreb held a tender for the supply of 20 trams for €39.5 million last year.
The only bid to participate in the tender came from Končar, which offered its rolling stock for €37.8 million. Additionally, an option for another 60 trams is included.

Such investments in updating the tram fleet demonstrate the city’s commitment to improving transportation accessibility and comfort for its residents.
The new trams will not only be modern but also more spacious, which should have a positive impact on passenger flow and the overall transportation infrastructure of the capital of Croatia.
