This week, the third phase of Line 1 was inaugurated, extending 10.6 kilometers from Fenghe Senlin Gongyuan to the Xianyang Xi railway station.

The total length of Line 1 now exceeds 42 kilometers, serving 30 stations. The line initially commenced passenger service in 2013.

This expansion comes just three months after the Xi’an Metro system launched its first autonomous operations.

Local media reported that the autonomous system on Line 16 in Xi’an was the first of its kind in northwest China.
