Kazakhstan is planning a major overhaul of its railway infrastructure over the next five years, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

As part of this program, over 180 railway stations are set to be upgraded by 2030.

The modernization will include the construction of new railway sections as well as the expansion and reconstruction of existing facilities.

The plans include the construction of additional passing loops, arrival-departure tracks, and dispatcher sidings.

There are also plans to extend existing tracks and restore those that were previously dismantled.

The project aims to increase the efficiency and reliability of railway transport in Kazakhstan, which will improve service quality and increase network capacity.
