“Kazakhstan Railways” declined applications to import 151 thousand tons of wheat from Russia, this is reported by the railway transport news portal, Railway Supply.
In October 2023, Kazakhstan received applications for the import of 341 thousand tons of wheat. The head of the company “KTZ Freight Transportation,” Vladimir Petrov, announced this during a government meeting.

According to him, the national carrier only approved the transportation of 190 thousand tons of wheat.
At the same time, they rejected applications to import an additional 151 thousand tons of Russian grain into the country, citing that the applicants were not on the approved list.
Earlier, LogiStan reported that Astana had imposed a six-month ban on the import of wheat into Kazakhstan by road and rail transport.
An exception was made for grain deliveries by rail to licensed elevators, grain processors, and poultry farms.
