“Kazakhstan Railways” caught violating rights of 1,300 entrepreneurs
12.07.2024
The main transport prosecutor’s office of Kazakhstan has found evidence of anti-competitive actions by Kazakhstan Railways, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
According to the agency, the national railway carrier exploited its dominant position by specifying in operating instructions certain locomotive owners for access tracks.
This led to competition restrictions, denying other locomotive owners access to the tracks. As a result, the rights of 1,300 businessmen were violated.
Following intervention by the transport prosecutor’s office, Kazakhstan Railways rectified the violation by removing mentions of specific locomotive owners from the instructions.
