To ensure seamless transportation of export and transit cargo, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) has developed a program for the development of railway infrastructure.

Hungarian investors are considering the acquisition of the Spanish company Talgo

It outlines the volumes of repairs, ongoing maintenance, infrastructure modernization, and the construction of new tracks.

The plan includes the extension and construction of additional station tracks, the opening of new points, the implementation of automatic blocking, and the construction of secondary railway tracks.

KTZ is already implementing four major railway infrastructure projects.

Within three years, railway lines will be built on the sections Dostyk-Moyinty, Bakhty-Ayagoz, Darbaza-Maktaaral, and a bypass railway around Almaty with a total length of 1334 km.

The modernization of the Dostyk-Moyinty railway section has been actively underway since last year.

Second tracks are being laid along the existing line, increasing the capacity of the section by 5 times.

The construction of a railway line bypassing the city of Almaty has started, which will relieve the Almaty hub by 40% and reduce the delivery time of transit cargo.

Additionally, on November 25, the construction of the Darbaza-Maktaaral railway line will be launched, easing the load on the Saryagash-Tashkent section.

In December, the construction of the Bakhty-Ayagoz railway line is planned to commence, increasing the volume of cargo traffic towards China.

As previously reported, Kazakhstan will increase the funds allocated for the development of the transportation industry.
