Kazakhstan: Modernization and Expansion of Railway Line

The National Fund of Kazakhstan continues to invest significant funds in the development of the country’s railway infrastructure, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
According to recent data, from 2022 to 2025, the fund intends to allocate 542.9 billion tenge ($1.16 billion) for the modernization and expansion of the “Dostyk – Moynaq” railway line.

The primary focus is on building secondary tracks and electrifying the existing infrastructure, which will significantly increase the capacity of the section.
In 2024 alone, the National Fund of Kazakhstan is allocating 164 billion tenge ($0.35 billion) to purchase bonds of the “Samruk-Kazyna” fund, with the proceeds directed towards financing the aforementioned project.
Completion of the railway modernization is planned for 2025, stimulating economic development in the region and ensuring more efficient transport links between Kazakhstan and neighboring countries.
These measures aim to strengthen the country’s infrastructure capabilities in the context of its integration into international transport and economic networks, promoting further economic growth and improving living standards for the population.
