Exports to Iran surged elevenfold, while shipments to Baltic countries grew five times in Q1 2025. Additionally, China received 500,000 tons of feed, a 5.5-fold increase.
In March 2025, KTZ loaded 1.2 million tons of grain, a 63% jump from last year. Exports for the month hit 914,000 tons, reflecting a 70% rise.
Shipments to Iran via Aktau and Kuryk ports soared eighteenfold this March alone. Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan imports rose sixfold, and Baltic nations saw tenfold growth.
Central Asian countries imported 463,000 tons of grain, up 48% from last year. Afghanistan’s shipments also climbed by 23%, expanding Kazakhstan’s market reach.
Uzbekistan Railways cut transit tariffs by 40% for grain headed to Afghanistan in March. This reduction, equating to savings of about $16 per ton, supports trade.
KTZ officials confirm their fleets and logistics systems can handle these growing volumes efficiently. Consequently, the company sustains its upward trajectory with robust infrastructure.
