Kazakhstani companies KTZ Express and QazTrade, together with Pakistan’s National Logistics Corporation, have organized a pilot multimodal transportation from northeastern Kazakhstan to the United Arab Emirates via Afghanistan and Pakistan, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Two trucks carrying 42 tons of locally produced goods were dispatched from the Pavlodar Special Economic Zone.

At the Zhetygen transport and logistics center, the goods were transshipped into two forty-foot containers, which were then delivered by road to the Pakistani port of Karachi.

The containers were then loaded onto a feeder vessel and transported to the Jebel Ali port in the UAE.

The total transit time was 38 days.

In June-July 2024, a total of 60 forty-foot containers are planned to be transported along this route.
