Russian freight forwarders express dissatisfaction with the actions of Kazakh railway carriers, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Kazakh Rail Carriers

As reported by @Logistan, a subsidiary of the “National Company” Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (“NC KTZ”), the company “KTZ – Freight Transportation,” has refused several Russian freight forwarding companies from entering into contracts for transit transportation on Kazakh railways under previous terms.

As an alternative, representatives of “KTZ – Freight Transportation” suggest negotiating with affiliated companies of “NC KTZ,” namely “KTZ Express” and “Kedentransservice.” The tariff rates at these companies are six to seven times higher (3-3.5 dollars per ton instead of 50 cents).

Russian freight forwarding organizations note that the tariff increase puts them at a disadvantage and appeal to the authorities of Kazakhstan to provide transportation services to them “exclusively on competitive terms.”

Appeals have been sent to the Antimonopoly Committee of Kazakhstan, the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, and senators. The issue of tariff increases for transit transportation through Kazakhstan has been brought up for discussion with the Eurasian Economic Commission.
