14.03.2024
The program is developed based on the analysis of train traffic intensity, locations, and destinations of freight flows, according to the Multimodal Transportation Technologies, an expert in railroad transportation
Key stations with sorting operations have been identified, where solutions to enhance freight transport organization efficiency will be implemented, including the introduction of train interval movement technology.
The implementation of the new program is set to begin at the railway stations of the Almaty hub.
There, plans include building a low-capacity hump yard and sorting park, optimizing container handling, developing solid train schedules, optimizing technological processes and crew work, as well as organizing local train movements on the sections “Zhetigen – Almaty-1” and “Almaty-1 – Kazybek-Bek”.
The timelines for project launch and expected expenditure volumes have not been disclosed by Kazakhstan Railways.
