Maintenance is done monthly, quarterly, semiannually, as well as annually. This deters equipment decay, which in turn prevents disruptions during peak periods for commuters.
Depok Depot, the largest depot for maintenance, occupies a wide span of 26 hectares. It consists of washing yards, underfloor wheel lathe, as well as overhauling workshops. Manggarai is involved in large-scale component substitution, whereas the remaining depots undertake light maintenance activities.

Others include the Yogyakarta-Palur Commuter Line, operated by the Solo Jebres Depot located outside of Jakarta. This line adheres to the same standards as those in the capital’s train network.
KAI Commuter is in charge of 1,072 Electric Multiple Units (EMUs) that make up 102 trains operating on a daily basis across Jabodetabek. Each process is done by certified engineers approved by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA).
Vice President of Corporate Secretary Karina Amanda emphasized that maintaining trains is not only about commitment, as a responsibility towards the train’s passengers lies in maintaining trains.
