By integrating advanced tracking systems, the companies offer real-time visibility and increased shipment control. This improves reliability and significantly lowers risks of transit delays.
J.B. Hunt claims the service provides delivery times up to one day faster than traditional intermodal solutions. It also boasts a 95% on-time performance rate, setting a new benchmark in cross-border logistics.
J.B. Hunt intermodal partnership aims at seamless cross-border freight
According to executive vice president Spencer Frazier, the J.B. Hunt intermodal partnership creates value by enhancing efficiency and lowering transport costs. He emphasized its foundation on a 35-year collaborative legacy.
J.B. Hunt also opened a regional office in Querétaro to support this expanded initiative. The location strengthens operations in Mexico and brings the team closer to key industrial corridors.
The collaboration builds on a 2023 joint launch through the Eagle Pass Gateway, a key intermodal port at the Texas–Mexico border. That route helped boost transnational rail efficiency.
J.B. Hunt intermodal partnership backed by major rail networks
With J.B. Hunt operating the largest intermodal fleet in the U.S., BNSF leading the national rail network, and GMXT dominating Mexican railways, this triad creates a formidable North American logistics force.
Luis Hernandez, GMXT’s intermodal VP, called the effort a milestone in service quality and innovation. He underscored that Quantum de Mexico reflects their shared focus on reliability, speed, and long-term logistics value.
This J.B. Hunt intermodal partnership is expected to play a critical role in redefining freight movement between the U.S. and Mexico in the years ahead.
