The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT MTA) announced dynamic trials of eight units on a 1.6 km track in Glenarden.

Technical Specifications of the Trams

Each tram consists of five sections and measures 43.3 meters in length, making it the largest in the country.

The model can carry up to 430 passengers, including 80 seated.

Project Plans and Outlook

The Purple Line project is a new light rail line stretching 26.1 km and connecting the suburbs of the U.S. capital.

This route will become a key link in the metropolitan transit system and facilitate travel between urban areas.
