Using bogies for rearranging wagons on European tracks
02.10.2023
The European Business Association calls for not altering the terms of using bogies for rearranging wagons on European tracks, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.
The European Business Association has reached out to the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for the Reintegration and the Minister of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure, as well as the Chairman of the Board of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia, requesting the cancellation of the decision to prohibit the use of bogies for rearranging wagons on the European track by owners of private wagons.
It is worth noting that last week, PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia announced its decision to employ existing bogies for the European track exclusively for the rearrangement of wagons within the branch of ‘Center for Transport Logistics.’
Participants of the European Business Association emphasized that such a decision is sudden and significantly affects the ability to execute the export plan, which plays a pivotal role in ensuring the stability of the national economy through a consistent influx of foreign currency.
The alteration in the conditions for rearranging wagons on the European track may, in the near future, lead to a substantial reduction in export volumes and, consequently, a decrease in foreign currency inflows into Ukraine’s economy.
Taking this into consideration, the Association has appealed to the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for the Reintegration, the Minister of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure, as well as the Chairman of the Board of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia, requesting the annulment of the decision to prohibit the use of bogies for rearranging wagons on the European track by owners of private wagons.
